What to pack for lessons:

  • Epipen (if your child is prescribed one)

  • Thermometer to temp check your family prior to coming into lessons

  • Plastic Bag for any trash you may produce during lessons.

  • Sunglasses (the pool area can be bright and HOT)

  • 2 layers of swim diapers. Yes, TWO LAYERS. The outermost layer MUST be a REUSABLE swim diaper. The inner diaper can be disposable. You can use two reusable diapers each day, but not two disposable ones.  The tight legs of the reusable are added security if there is a BM during lessons.  You can purchase reusable swim diapers at Target, ISRstore.com or amazon.  This is for ANY student who is 3 or younger OR has been potty trained for less than 6 months.

  • 3 Layers of Towels.  If you have a large thick towel, that can be doubled and still allows your child to rest comfortably on their left side that can create your two layers and the other towel can be used to dry them.  This will save you the need to bring 3 towels.

  • Wet bag for wet laundry and used diapers

  • Clothes and diapers to change into after lessons

  • A snack and drink for the car.

  • Personal hand sanitizer

Food Restrictions

For Safety (see chapter 4 in the PRG) children should not eat or drink 2 hours prior to lessons. This includes but is not limited to snacks, breastmilk, or water.

Students who have eaten within the 2-hour window will have their lesson cancelled for the day

Please exclude APPLE and PEACHES (in any form) from your child diet Monday- Friday as they cause digestive discomfort during lessons. If giving your child apples/peaches over the weekend please stop on Sunday 24 hours before lessons.

Medical Guidelines

Communication is KEY to your child’s safety during lessons.

If your child is experiencing, but of course not limited to, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, a rash, wheezing, eye drainage, and/or an open wound please text me!

If you decide to take them to the doctor or they are experiencing any symptoms (listed above) please notify Ms. Ashley ASAP.

Please take a moment to review Common Childhood Illness Protocols. ISR requires students to be fever (100.4 or above), vomiting, and/or diarrhea FREE WITHOUT medication for 48 hours before returning to lessons, even if the doctor says otherwise.

What if your child goes to the doctor for a sick visit?

Please let us know ASAP. They will not be able to attend lessons until approval is given by the nursing team. An MLU will need to be completed as well.

Students cannot attend lessons if they have received a vaccine within 12 hours of lessons.

Please schedule vaccines around lessons.

If a student misses 3 or more consecutive lessons due to illness or injury a missed lesson update will need to be completed with the national ISR nursing team using this link. They cannot return until approval is received from the nursing team.
